Agency/
Organization Programming Support and Consulting

The American Excellence Initiative partners with law enforcement agencies to design and implement integrated wellness systems that strengthen both individual performance and organizational culture. Services are structured to support departments of every size, from small rural agencies to large metropolitan organizations, and are tailored to operational demands, staffing realities, and leadership objectives.

At the consulting level, AEI assists agencies in building sustainable performance and wellness infrastructure. This includes physical training program development, injury mitigation strategies, stress physiology education, and long-term resilience frameworks. Customized physical readiness and nutrition curriculum can be developed to align with academy standards, annual fitness testing requirements, or agency-specific performance benchmarks.

AEI also provides advisory support in policy and cultural development related to officer wellness. This may include guidance on employee suicide policies, stress exposure mitigation strategies, transition programming to assist planning for retirement or career separation, and leadership-driven wellness initiatives. The goal is to move beyond reactive resources and embed wellness into policy, leadership practice, and daily operations.

Through structured consulting, curriculum design, leadership development, and long-term advisory partnerships, AEI helps agencies build resilient people, resilient teams, and resilient cultures.

Law Enforcement Wellness and Performance Program

(LEWAP)

The Law Enforcement Wellness and Performance Program (LEWAP) is a structured, year-long, evidence-informed initiative designed to strengthen both the individual officer and the organization as a whole. Built in response to the growing wellness crisis within the profession, LEWAP moves beyond reactive resources and delivers an integrated system that addresses physical health, sleep, nutrition, mental resilience, identity, leadership, and long-term occupational durability.

LEWAP is most effective when facilitated through an embedded Law Enforcement Wellness Specialist, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and trust within the agency. Hybrid deliveries are available as well.

The program follows a four-module progression over twelve months, with each 13-week phase building upon the last. Similar in structure to a formalized field training model, LEWAP develops foundational competencies first, then deepens skill development and behavioral change through assessment, individualized protocols, and ongoing coaching.

Participants receive baseline evaluations across key performance and wellness domains, followed by personalized action plans in fitness, recovery, stress management, habit formation, and personal development. Throughout each module, officers engage in structured coaching, guided development exercises, and direct support designed to translate knowledge into sustainable behavioral change.

At the organizational level, LEWAP incorporates anonymous aggregate data collection to identify trends, cultural strengths, and potential wellness risk factors. Agencies receive executive-level summaries and practical recommendations without compromising individual privacy. This allows leadership to respond proactively rather than reactively, strengthen morale and retention, and align wellness strategy with emerging national best practices.
