About the event
Mission Critical: A Wellness Primer for Law Enforcement
Police1’s 2024 comprehensive “What cops want” survey is clear…cops need more wellness. 93% of respondents agreed that their personal wellness impacts their job performance, while simultaneously reporting significant barriers to maintaining their physical and mental health.
The answer? Integrated Wellness delivered by culturally competent providers.
Integrated Wellness: The intentional development of the physical, mental, emotional, relational, and purpose-driven dimensions of life to strengthen resilience, reduce allostatic load, and create capacity in professional performance, quality of life, and longevity.
This course offering is AEI's evidence-informed Integrated Wellness training, built specifically for U.S. law enforcement and delivered cop-to-cop. Grounded in information from the BCOPS Study (the largest, longest-running peer-reviewed health research ever conducted exclusively on a population of U.S. officers) and built around AEI's Problem-Theory-Solution-Design (P-T-S-D) framework, this course is an honest look at the toll of the job, the science behind it, and practical, individualized systems to balance it.
This is the full-day, 8-hour course, including afternoon hands-on labs. You'll walk away with:
· Your own RMR and macro targets, calculated live in class
· Evidence-based fitness, nutrition, and sleep protocols built for shift work
· A habit formation and behavioral design methodology based on research from Stanford University
· The tools to drive real, lasting change in your job performance, quality of life, and longevity
This course pairs evidence-informed science with lived experience in overcoming struggles with mental health, weight, PTSD, moral injury, and burnout from someone who's been where you are.
